What is DS?
An interdisciplinary design magazine with the motto: “Space. Form. Time”
DIZAINA STUDIJA is a magazine which aims to position design as a gauge for the quality of the contemporary environment: informing, analysing and having input into society’s value system through design theory, outlining its history in Latvia and the world, and by following today’s current events. A significant role of the magazine is to present Latvia’s design potential and the new generation of designers internationally, and to become involved in the creation of design policy initiated by the state.
DIZAINA STUDIJA is the only magazine in Lavia which offers a special feature – the supplement DIZAINA SKOLA - which emphasises the special importance of design education and outlines the future development of design. It compiles, analyses and popularises our design potential, publishes articles related to themes and events in Latvia and abroad, which interest students and young authors, describes design education theory and practice in Latvia and other countries, offers information about educational events, opportunities, competitions and exhibitions. The significance of DIZAINA SKOLA as a source of information for manufacturers – the potential employers of emerging designers - must be emphasised.
